McMillan Welcomes Inverclyde Council Tax Freeze
Stuart McMillan MSP, (SNP) has welcomed the news that Inverclyde Council are once again freezing the council tax.
Inverclyde council are able to do this following the Scottish Government’s renewed agreement with COSLA, the Local Authorities governing body and will confirm the freeze on 18th February.
Mr. McMillan said;
"I welcome the news from Inverclyde Council that the council tax freeze is to continue.
"We all know there are financial challenges ahead for local authorities due to the cuts to the Scottish budget by the UK Government but this move along with spending programmes throughout Inverclyde is a positive step for the area.
"Low income families especially are being hit with cost saving measures throughout Scotland and continuing to freeze the council tax in Inverclyde will assist them this year".
