McMillan Writes to SPS Over HMP Inverclyde Location

Stuart McMillan MSP, (SNP) has today (Wednesday) written to the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) in connection with the location for the new HMP Inverclyde prison.

Mr McMillan said;

"I've read the recent media reports which suggest the new HMP Inverclyde may be built on the site of the former Greenock High School site.

"Therefore, I felt it important to write to the SPS to ascertain when they plan to announce their preferred location for the new prison and what consultation they will undertake with local residents.

"I have asked the Chief Executive to meet with me at his earliest convenience to discuss this matter further."
