McMillan Raises James Watt College Issue with Scottish Government

Stuart McMillan MSP (SNP, West Scotland) has recently raised the issue of James Watt College and the campus estate in the Scottish Parliament chamber.

Mr McMillan asked the Scottish Government what assistance it will provide to maintain and improve the fabric of West College Scotland’s campuses once the merger takes effect

Mr McMillan said:

“I raised the issue of the fabric of the James Watt College with the Government as it has been suggested that facilities at the Finnart Street Campus in Greenock and the Reid Kerr College Campus in Paisley are tired.

“It’s vital our college students have the best opportunities available and this includes campuses that will assist and deliver the best possible outcomes.

“The Clydebank College campus is new and was opened in 2007. With the regionalisation process I am asking the Scottish Funding Council to ascertain what assistance they can provide to colleges, such as the soon to be West College Scotland, to ensure that the future fabric of the facilities in the Greenock and Paisley assist students with their studies.”
