Stuart McMillan MSP (SNP, West of Scotland) has today (Tuesday) urged community groups to submit an application to ScotRail for funding to make disused railway station buildings into a community project which would contribute to the local community. One of the stations which may have funding opportunities is Fort Matilda, Greenock.
Mr McMillan said;
"I would urge community groups in Inverclyde to seriously consider submitting an application to ScotRail's Station Community Regeneration Fund.
"The fund of £1million will see disused railway station buildings turned into hubs of the community which is of vital importance.
"It would be excellent to see the Fort Matilda station receive some of this funding and offer a community resource to the people of Inverclyde.
"Application forms can be downloaded from ScotRail's website where there is more information about the Station Community Regeneration Fund (SCRF)."
