McMillan Concerned About T-Mobile Job Losses

Stuart McMillan MSP, (SNP West of Scotland) has today made his concerns known about the reported loss of 118 call centre jobs at T-Mobile in Greenock. Mr McMillan has written to the Minister for Enterprise to highlight the job losses and to ascertain what the Scottish Government is doing to minimise such losses in Greenock's workforce.

Mr McMillan said;

"I am extremely disappointed to hear the news that T-Mobile is to shed over 500 jobs and that 118 of these jobs will be call centre posts in Greenock.

"The T-Mobile centre in Greenock has been a good source of employment for the local community and to see these jobs losses is very disheartening especially as it seems they are being moved to the Philippines.

"Therefore, I felt it was important and necessary to write to the Minister for Enterprise highlighting the job losses and to ask what the Scottish Government is doing to minimise and prevent further losses."
